For all you interior design junkies out there, here is something you won’t want to miss. The “One Room Challenge” is a biyearly event that is put on by Linda at the blog Calling it Home. I followed along with a few of the designers on the last challenge and learned a lot and enjoyed the process of seeing other designers techniques. For more detailed info on this go here and to learn about this round of participants go here. You can follow along on each designers blog or Instagram. You can also check out all the link challenges here.
For a brief explanation: 20 designers are invited by Calling it Home blog to completely redecorate a room in their own home or a clients home. They have 6 weeks to complete the room and every Wednesday must give updates. 6 weeks is pretty fast to complete a project. There are also 100 other participants that link in to join the fun, so there’s lots of inspiration out there. Maybe I’ll link in next time, it sure would be motivating!!!
Here are my favorite designers to follow:
I’ve talked about Tobe Reed from Because It’s Awesome before, in my Ballard Design post when she redecorated her master bedroom on the last challenge. I think she did a great job and I really like her style.
The tufted bed frame, white bedding, chest, bench, and ohhhhh that rug….
She took an Ikea dresser and made it look so chic. Cute gallery wall too…
This year she’s redecorating and re-purposing her dining room.
Here are some before shots which are pretty cute actually…
The next participant I’m keeping my eye on is from the blog Apartment 34. Erin has an old Victorian and she’s looking to redo the media room in a very modern, masculine style. The before pictures show great bones but in desperate need of a make over. Her inspiration pictures are awesome, so I can’t wait to see how this room turns out.

Inspiration…
Love the depth of color and warmth in these rooms. Traditional with a modern edge.
The next blogger participant I’ll be following because her style is very different from mine. Lots and lots of color but I think it will be fun to see what she does. Holly from The English Room is redecorating her game room, I’d call it the family room. I’m also redecorating my family room during my remodel so I thought maybe I’d get some good ideas. Here’s what her room looks like now…
She has not posted any inspiration pictures but here is a boys room that she did, that is really great. The details and colors are so powerful without being overwhelming…
How great is this corner of the room! Love absolutely everything!!!
Here are all the names of the 20 participants…
This should be fun. Come back and see the progress.
All the best,
Joy
