I wanted to share another reveal from the One Room Challenge Spring 2016, if you are unfamiliar with this challenge check out all the details at Calling it Home.
This master bedroom is by designer Kristin Jackson and her blog is called Hunted Interior. What drew me to this room was her clever use of the color blue. She uses a lot of it is this room and yet it doesn’t feel overwhelming blue.

Before and after…
Luckily her clients had a few nice piece to work with like the headboard and nightstands.
There is a lot of blue, in fact everything is blue, but I really like it.
Here’s what it looks like as you’re entering the room. Very pretty.
Although the color palette is very simple, Kristin uses lots of texture which is what makes this room really work.
Lots of texture on the bedding.
What really made an impression on me are the custom drapes, that fabric is great!
I also really like the pattern play with the stripes, geographic and floral.
She did a nice job styling the nightstand.
I really like the sophistication of this room too, it’s a “grown up” room but still warm and cozy.
As much as designers don’t like it, the reality is TV’s are nice to have in a bedroom. I like the wood on the console table and she used my favorite: a collection of blue and white ginger jars and vases (more on that here). The tassel on the knob is a nice touch, it’s all in the details, as I always say.

This room really got me feeling blue, but in the best possible way.
