TURKEY CUPCAKES

A  few years ago my girls and I made these TURKEY CUPCAKES for Thanksgiving. They were a huge hit and super cute. It was a fun project to do together. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • any kind of cake mix you’d like (we used chocolate)
  • white frosting and orange food coloring
  • cupcake liners
  • white icing in a small tube (gel)
  • Nutter Butter cookies
  • strawberry Fruit Roll Ups
  • mini-chocolate chips
  • candy corn (we used another type of candy but I think this would look even cuter)

Directions:

Make cupcakes according to package directions. Mix in orange food coloring to desired color. When cupcakes are cool…frost. Take Nutter Butter cookies and put two dabs of white icing for eyes and then top each with a mini-chocolate chip. Cut a small piece of Fruit Roll Up in a small rectangle shape, dab small amount of white icing between and beneath the eyes and put Fruit Roll on top of it to make the wattle. Place in center of cupcake and behind the cookie surround in a half circle with the candy corn for feathers.

I would actually recommend waiting to put the cookies into the cupcakes until you are ready to service otherwise the cookies get soggy. We put the cookies in a few hours before and they were a bit soft, but no one really cared because they LOVED the cupcakes.

Hope these are a hit for you too.
